Over the past two months, the Instructional Employee Teaching Workload Workgroup completed Phase II of the workflow timeline, revising RPD 20-25 to comply with Wis. Stat. § 36.115(10) under 2025 Wisconsin Act 15. A draft was shared with university stakeholders on October 29, 2025, initiating an 11-day comment period. A total of 220 responses were received, with themes related to flexibility in implementation, recognition of the full scope of faculty responsibilities, accreditation considerations, equity, clarity on clinical appointments, and potential impacts on teaching quality, student learning, and faculty development.
On November 19, 2025, Resolution 12407 was adopted by the Board of Regents, approving the revised RPD 20-25 and authorizing its submission to the Joint Committee for Employment Relations (JCOER), with implementation directed no later than September 1, 2026. Concerns raised during the public comment period will be addressed through corresponding SYS and UW university policies.
